Crockpot Chicken & Gravy
Crockpot Chicken & Gravy made with just three simple ingredients is the perfect no-stress dinner for busy nights. Add everything to the slow cooker, set it, and let it cook itself into a comforting, flavorful meal. Serve it over fluffy steamed rice with a side of green beans for a complete, family-approved dish that even picky eaters will enjoy.
Crockpot Chicken & Gravy
This Crockpot Chicken & Gravy could not be easier to prepare. Start by placing the chicken directly into the slow cooker and seasoning it with salt and pepper. You can also substitute garlic salt or seasoned salt if you prefer extra flavor. Once the chicken is seasoned on both sides, whisk together the gravy mix and cream soup until smooth, then pour the mixture over the chicken.
After the chicken has fully cooked, use two forks to shred it right inside the slow cooker, allowing it to soak up all that rich gravy. We love serving this dish over classic white rice, but it works just as well with brown rice, mashed potatoes, or egg noodles. For something different, try spooning it over Texas toast for an easy open-faced sandwich. If you are gluten-free, cauliflower rice or spaghetti squash make excellent alternatives.
This recipe uses chicken gravy mix, but you can swap in any gravy packet you like. For a thinner sauce, stir in ½ to 1 cup of water or chicken broth when mixing the soup and gravy. This not only adjusts the consistency but also helps stretch the gravy. And honestly, the slow-cooker gravy is the star of the entire dish.

Note
Do NOT make the gravy. You are only using the dry mix.
Do NOT add water to the soup. Just use the soup right out of the can.
Can use chicken thighs or tenderloins in place of chicken breasts.
Can use frozen chicken breasts.
You will need to cook on the higher end of the cooking time if using frozen chicken.
Can add frozen vegetables to the mixture.
I suggest using Unsalted Cream of Chicken Soup in this dish to control the sodium.
